One of the major differences in how seasonal events in Final Fantasy 14 are handled compared to most MMOs, is that the events evolve alongside the game and follow their own, separate, standalone storyline. This year, it will be up to players to help Lisette de Valentione and her postmoogle associates in spreading the messages of ardor and affection to all corners of Eorzea.

This brief questline in Final Fantasy 14 can be picked up at the Mih Khetto Amphitheatre in Old Gridania by speaking to Lisette herself. There are no requirements outside of being level 15, and all players are encouraged to participate. The rewards made available this year are a Postmoogle-themed Chocobo barding, as well as a Valentione’s mobile furnishing for players to adorn the walls of their apartments and houses. Players will have the opportunity to obtain these rewards from February 8th to February 21st.

An important thing to note about the event is that ever since 2018, Valentione’s Day has also featured a special seasonal instance for players to complete called Valentione’s Ceremony. Situated behind the Sanctum of the Twelve in East Shroud, the chapel that hosts marriages in Final Fantasy 14, Valentione’s Ceremony tests two players separated in a maze filled with traps as they work together to unlock doors and make their way across.

For players who may have missed rewards from past events, the House Valentione Maid will have them covered, as she will offer a selection of old rewards – presumably in exchange for the event’s currency. While the list of items that are returning are unknown at this time, those who seek a specific outfit or mount from a previous Valentione’s Day will find them on the Mog Store at a reasonable price. Other seasonal events such as the Starlight Celebration have followed the same pattern when it came to offering players old rewards.

Between the population boom that Final Fantasy 14 experienced last year, as well as the launch of the Oceania Data Center, a lot of players will be acquainting themselves with the game’s seasonal events for the first time, and Valentione’s Day is certainly one they shouldn’t let slip by.

Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker is available on PC, PS4 and PS5.
