The latest Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness poster is visually loaded and has enough content for fans to analyze until the film premieres. As the title of the film suggests, fans will get to witness some Multiversal madness soon, and the new poster is the perfect embodiment of it. Shrouded in a red hue, the art offers a closer look at the different avatars of the various characters, including Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange and Xochitl Gomez’s America Chavez.

While Doctor Strange takes center stage, fans have already seen his variants on posters and in the multiple trailers before, including Sinister Strange and Stephen Strange in zombie form. The trailers have shown glimpses of Elizabeth Olsen’s multiple avatars as Wanda and the Scarlet Witch, but this latest poster brings them all together for the first time. With the Multiverse at play, it only seems logical to have more than one Scarlet Witch show up as part of the film.

Fans have already begun analyzing different aspects of the poster on social media. Whether it’s the multiple variants of the main characters, a cameo appearance from a Minotaur, or what could possibly be members of the Illuminati, fans are making possible connections to the comics and even the X-Men universe. Comic book fans are convinced that they have spotted Dario Agger, a member of the Dark Council and CEO of Roxxon Energy, which was last referenced in Disney Plus’ Loki.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the first film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to release in 2022. After the huge success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, fan expectations for the upcoming Marvel Studios flick are very high. It seems like one of Marvel Studios’ most ambitious projects, considering the number of characters it brings together, and fans expect its climax to be on par with its predecessor.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premieres in theaters on May 6, 2022.
