Following the bout, Plant’s victory pose involved him shoveling dirt onto Dirrell, indicating he was burying him. MMA fans will feel a sense of deja vu, as Tito Ortiz did this to several of his opponents throughout his career. Plant saw this as an end the rivalry, something harmless. Others were not fans of Plant’s actions.
Did Plant go too far?
Two guys talked trash before the fight, and one knocked the other out. Somebody is going to get hurt, and somebody is going to celebrate. Are post-fight celebrations, especially one like that, bad for boxing?
